The H. W. Smith Building (also known as the Smith Arcade) is a historic site in Punta Gorda, Florida, United States.It is located at 121 East Marion Avenue and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.
From 1880-1916 a U.S. post office was sited in Punta, and Punta Gorda served as a stop for both the stagecoach and the railroad. Charles E. Ablett served as the first postmaster. In 1883 the Rincon School district was established and classes were first held in the home of Robert Callis with nine pupils in attendance.
