Your higher platelet count isn’t anything extreme. It’s still under the upper ‘normal’ limit for platelets. There are a number of factors which can temporarily raise your level. Inflammation or infection being two of them. Inflammation is often the cause of pain and since you mentioned your chronic knee, pelvic and back pain, that is a ...

Dad (who also had ET) was on both meds, but only because a) his platelets were over 1,000 and b) hydroxy alone wasn't reducing them enough. He eventually was on only hydroxy. There are other factors that affect stroke risk, such as your age, the mutation that's causing the ET, and whether you have ever had a clot before.

The Moderna vaccine jacked up my platelet count from 1.2 million to over 1.4 million. I hope this helps you. Good day to all..

I began a battle with high platelet count about 5 years ago. My platelets from Essential Thrombocythemia were over 1.0 million without any drugs until my first 2 doses of the Moderna SARS2 vaccine and spike proteins in early 2021. The vaccine caused my platelet count to exceed 1.5 million and I noticed pressure in my brain.
