The CS2005 's Achilles' heel is its weight. While comparable to a 20-inch gas-powered chainsaw, it outweighs the 18-inch battery models we tested by 4-5 pounds. This heft is noticeable. For limbing tasks, we often opted for the lighter Husqvarna Power Axe 350i (14.6 lbs) or the more value-oriented Ego Power+ CS1800.
It is the fastest battery chainsaw we have tested and is now faster than the 20" gas chainsaws in our lineup. It blew away the competition in our standardized, 4 x 4 cutting time test, with a blazing 3.5 sec cutting time, beating the next best by 1.5 seconds (a gas saw), and leaving the average 15.4 seconds cutting time in the dust.
The Husqvarna Power Axe 350i is one of the fastest battery-powered chainsaws in regular mode, but with “Boost Mode” enabled, the motor draws extra power from the battery. Credit: Ross Patton To gain some objective data, we constructed a “ fake log ” by strapping four Douglas Fir 4"x4"s to a sawbuck in order to create a controlled and ...
Our Verdict. The Milwaukee M18 Fuel is one of our favorite battery chainsaws that we've reviewed to date. It is on the heavier side, but we find that in many instances the added weight aids with cutting. It has a great overall performance, our favorite type of chain tensioning system, and metal bucking spikes. We love the M18 Fuel battery.
The Greenworks Pro 80V ran for a commendable 27 minutes. Keep in mind, this is running nonstop. Realistically it will run for a solid couple of hours of making cuts. Although this isn't the longest-lasting battery we've tested, we'd still recommend this model for professional and heavy-duty use. The main reason we gave the Greenworks Pro 80V an ...
One of the best cordless chainsaws we have tested to date is the ECHO. By far our favorite feature of the Echo CCS-58V4AH is its ridiculous cutting power, which is the primary reason that we have given it our Editors' Choice award. We find the battery system to be smooth and simple to use. It holds a great charge and re-charges quickly.
Earning one of our top spots, the Ego Power+ CS1800 is the value pick in our best chainsaw review. It didn't perform as well as the EGO Power+ CS2005, but it is much lighter, less expensive, and maybe all the saw you need. If battery life is important, this saw is the way to go. The battery outlasts most of the competition and is relatively ...
This saw has a lot to offer for those that don't require a long bar or tons of battery life. The short bar length and small battery make the Worx WG322 much lighter and more compact than most cordless electric chainsaws on the market. The light weight can alleviate some pain from your back and arms, making small duty trimming, bucking, and ...
The Oregon Cordless CS300 is not an impressive cordless chainsaw. It has an integrated chain sharpener, which we find to be a cool feature, but it doesn't keep up with the others in our test metrics including noise, ease of use, and battery. The Oregon is a below-average cordless chainsaw. Credit: Jenna Ammerman.
The Husqvarna 120i has an extraordinary battery life, which is increased even further when the saw is switched into “ savE ” mode. This tool is quiet, and best of all it is inexpensive when compared to its level of power and efficiency. However, the 120i is not the most astounding cordless chainsaw that we've tested.
