That’s a tiny sample size. Which makes it inconclusive. It's a tiny sample size and also a very uncommon failure, not just in the RS3 but also the TTRS 2.5t and any other engine Audi makes. In 12 years at Audi, it's the only failure of its kind I've ever seen. Warranties are so easy to get on used car these days.
These Audis are fairly reliable from what I understand, but as with any used German car you should be ready to spend $2-3k+ at the drop of a hat if something breaks or fails. Doubly so on an RS model where parts are more expensive than their A or S counterparts.

RS 3. Our change to 18-inch wheels made a big difference in performance, compared. to the performance the factory installed 19-inch wheel/tire configuration produced. Been racing and making fast runs in my vehicles since 1957. Have slowed a bit but. still making these runs 3 days a week 10am to 2pm as weather permits.
The difference made from the Stage 1+ ecu tune is more noticeable than the stage 1 dsg, but I would recommend both tunes to anyone willing to upgrade their RS3. It took a blazing fast and smooth vehicle to a whole new level. I recently added Unitronics Stage 1+ ECU and Stage 1 DSG tune for my RS3.

I would imagine the assembly went down hill during covid, my '22 S3 already started having engine problems at 3000k miles. Luckily the Audi dealer ignored my phone calls and emails, once I was able to get a hold of someone they said it would be 2-3 months before they could look at it : (. 01-31-2023 08:03 AM #3.
Performance/Road Manners. In comparison to the 8V, it feels pretty comparable to the power of the former 8V, with the 8Y feeling slightly quicker. The transmission seems much smoother and more refined compared to the 8V. I have not tested the launch control yet, so I will provide updates later.
I run my TTRS with Unitronic Stg2 as well. Winding back to Stg1+, a good performance hike and felt very 'OEM+' in its delivery. Enter Stg2. The car felt rawer, raucous exhaust note, power delivery a little more savage especially in the midrange, with more again up top.
As you can see in both the 2019 and 2020 schedules, the RS3 is listed that we should follow 504 oils on page 4. HOWEVER, on page 5 there is a difference with the recommended oil we should use for 504. 2019 - 504 00 / 507 00 Diesel Oil – Castrol EDGE® Professional® 5W30 LL03. 2020 - 504 00 / 507 00 (Diesel Engines) – Castrol EDGE ...
