Just thought some of you might be interested in my windows Patching program for Arcade Roms. It has patches for 285 rom sets covering 78 different games. A significant number of these are for High Score Saving as well as Freeplay, Flip Screen and conversions.
Another way is to look at the MAME ROM file's size (from the file itself, or from the MAME source code) and infer what type of EPROM type/size would be correct for a file of that size. The following table helps with this method: Code: typepinskbitkByteMbitMbytehex sizeaddressnotes.
Yes, it's in the database because [Ms.] Pac Man program code can be implemented on either 4 4KiB roms or 8 2KiB roms. Ms Pac Man and Pac Man both use the same 6E,6F,6H,6J roms. I think if you appended the lower and upper half reads of your 2516 read of the 6E masked rom, it should definitely match the PACMAN.6E file.
It's quite simple. You can ignore any letters/numbers before/after the 2532. 2532 is. the only important part of the EPROM. The HN46 is irrelevant and unimportant. So is the JL and JDL crap, all irrelevant. The only somewhat important number after the 2532 is the -45 or -30 or -20 which.

The SB (Solid Blue) rom set only actually modifies 8 of the original 12 YO roms. Those being : 3,4,5,6,7,A,B,C MAME defines the "Parent" rom set (ie. the "Master" set) as the latest version of any rom set. So for Robotron, the "parent" set is the SB set. So The RobotronYO MAME set will have 4 common roms (1,2,8,9) as SB ,
And yes, this is true, and how things went down. Atari basically overcompensated when they made AD (as they sought to make the game harder to marathon), and then needed to back off a bit because they made it a little TOO hard, hence the v2 ROMs However it should be noted that the v2 'hard' dip setting is NOT the same code as the v1 ROMs.
