Thomas Shannon Ridgway (August 30, 1826 – November 17, 1897) was an American banker and politician from Illinois. He co-founded the First National Bank of Shawneetown and was president of the Springfield and Illinois South Eastern Railway. In 1875, Ridgway was elected Illinois Treasurer, serving two years.
The Treasurer is elected for a renewable four-year term during the quadrennial mid-term election. The Illinois Constitution provides that the Treasurer must, at the time of their election, be a United States citizen, at least 25 years old, and a resident of the state for at least three years preceding the election.
Ridgway is located in southern Illinois at (37.798036, -88.260571), [8] north of Shawnee National ForestIt is in north-central Gallatin County, 9 miles (14 km) northwest of Shawneetown, the county seat.
