Lake Varna (Bulgarian: Варненско езеро, Varnensko ezero) is the largest by volume and deepest liman or lake along the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast, divided from the sea by a 2 km-wide strip of sand and having an area of 19 km 2, maximal depth 19 m, and a volume of 166 million m 3.

Varna Municipality (Bulgarian: Община Варна) is a seaside municipality in Varna Province, Northeastern Bulgaria, located on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast and near Varna lake. It is named after its administrative centre - the city of Varna - which is also the capital of the homonymous province.

The Varna culture was a Chalcolithic culture of northeastern Bulgaria, dated c. 4500 BC, [1] [2] contemporary and closely related with the Gumelnița culture.
