Slatina (Romanian pronunciation:, Bulgarian: Слатина) is the capital city of Olt County, Romania, on the river Olt. It is located in the south of Romania, on the eastern side of the river Olt, in the historical region of Muntenia. The population was 63,487 in 2021; the urban area has around 85,000 inhabitants.
The May 1 Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Slatina, Olt County and is currently used mostly for football matches, being the home ground of CSM Slatina since 2017. In the past it was also the home ground of Oltul Slatina and Inter Olt Slatina. It can accommodate 10,000 spectators (6,500 on seats). [1]
The Slatina oil field is an oil field located in Slatina, Olt County. It was discovered in 1984 and developed by Petrom. It began production in 1985 and produces oil and natural gas. The total proven reserves of the Slatina oil field are around 155 million barrels (20.8×10 6 tonnes), and production is centered on 800 barrels per day (130 m 3 /d).

Former logo, as FC Olt Slatina. The club was founded under the name of CSM Slatina in the summer of 2009, with the financial support of the Municipality of Slatina. [1] The team was promoted to Liga III, the third division of Romanian football, in 2010 as CSM won the Liga IV – Olt County without losing a point in 29 matches. [2]
The club was founded in the summer of 2006 after the merger of Alprom Slatina and Oltul Slatina. Until the summer of 2012 it was known as CS Alro Slatina when it was separated from the sports club and renamed FC Olt Slatina (with no connections with the old FC Olt Slatina club that played at Piatra Olt).
