Generally, the same makers also offer reloading dies, tools to custom-load bullets into cases. Because changing the barrel of a gun to accommodate custom cartridges requires precision equipment, most wildcats are developed by or in association with custom barrel makers.

Barrels and conversions were available from Bar-Sto Barrels, Jarvis, Inc., Storm Lake Machine, Cylinder & Slide, Al's Custom, Inc., Morris Custom, LaRocca Gunworks, and EFK Fire Dragon. Older chamberings (pre-2011) could be non-SAAMI (Lee factory dies clarify that their dies are the old version). Handloaders using the SAAMI spec full length sizer, can be adapted to the older chambering, as Redding required use of a custom deeper shellholder (.014 deeper or .014 space between shellholder and bottom of die).
