What each considers foreshadowing is a lot more subjective and I have no intention of arguing against it. Someone can consider every sunny scene to be foreshadowing for the sun god. I consider Orange Town arc to be foreshadowing for Buggy as Luffy's son from the future, and the next Pirate King.
What I'm getting at is that foreshadowing is supposed to be undetectable due to the readers restricted knowledge of the events, but once the truth is revealed, it should stick out. GRRM's foreshadowing is something to revel at, in light of this please leave your favourite use of foreshadowing down below, mine is "The Seed is Strong", in the very first book. Archived post. New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast.
That makes it worse, especially in terms of being foreshadowing, it pretty objectively isn't, or at least is a rare example of bad foreshadowing. The audience isn't 'fore' told about anything because they need to ignore sense to come to that conclusion.
