The Ganges Basin is a major part of the Ganges-Brahmaputra-Meghna (GBM) basin draining 1,999,000 square kilometres in Tibet, Nepal, India and Bangladesh. To the north, the Himalaya or lower parallel ranges beyond form the Ganges-Brahmaputra divide. On the west the Ganges Basin borders the Indus basin and then the Aravalli ridge.

Sri Lanka Schools XI cricket team was a Sri Lankan cricket team that represents Sri Lankan schools. The team featured in the first-class BCCSL Invitation Quadrangular Tournament in 2001/02 and 2002/03, and the Inter-Provincial Twenty20 tournament in 2007–08 and 2008–09 , finishing in last place on both occasions.
It is the oldest cricket match series in the central province and the second oldest in Sri Lanka, having been played since 1893. [11] [12] The Battle of the Blues (Matara) has been played between St. Thomas' College, Matara, and St. Servatius' College Matara since 1900. [13] [14] [15] Over the years, many other Big Matches have been established.
