Le Tigre (/ l ə ˈ t iː ɡ r ə /, French pronunciation: [lə tiɡʁ]; French for "The Tiger") is an American art punk and riot grrrl band formed by Kathleen Hanna (of Bikini Kill), Johanna Fateman and Sadie Benning in 1998 in New York City.
They were replaced by JD Samson on Le Tigre's second studio album Feminist Sweepstakes. Released in October 2001, it is a hybrid of genres, combining hip hop , dance and punk music. [ 2 ] In the United States, the album reached number 43 on the Billboard Independent Albums chart.
