Tawag ng Tanghalan (lit. ' call of the stage ', abbreviated TNT) is a Philippine television reality competition show broadcast by ABS-CBN.Originally hosted by Jaime dela Rosa, Patsy and Lopito, it aired as a reality competition from 1954 to September 1972 and from March 8, 1987 to November 26, 1989, and was replaced by Sa Linggo nAPO Sila.
Born as Wolfrando Lavalan Jr., Jun Lopito was the son of Wolfrando Lavalan Sr. better known as "Lopito", a comedian and the original Filipino TV host of Tawag ng Tanghalan in the 1950s. Jun at the age of 8 was caught up in music after seeing The Beatles in concert in 1966. [5] At the age of 17, he played blues and rock.
The Tanghalan is a primary example of the architect's signature style known as the floating volume, a trait can be seen in structures indigenous to the Philippines such as the nipa hut. It houses three performing arts venues, one theater for film screenings, galleries, a museum and the center's library and archives.
