"Be My Lover" is a song recorded by German Eurodance group La Bouche and released in March 1995 by Arista and RCA Records as the second single from their debut album, Sweet Dreams (1995). The song was written by group members Melanie Thornton and Lane McCray with Uli Brenner and Gerd Amir Saraf, who co-produced it with Frank Farian .
La Bouche went on to become one of the biggest Eurodance groups of the '90s, with a string of hits worldwide. The debut album Sweet Dreams was released on 12 June 1995 and went to number 13 in the US, featured two more hit single releases, " Fallin' in Love " (a cover of the 1975 Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds song) and " I Love to Love ".
