Stephen James Veltman (born August 4, 1969 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; [1] later raised in Conroe, Texas U.S.) is a former American "Old School/Mid School" professional Bicycle Motocross (BMX) racer whose prime competitive years were from 1980–1985 and 1987 to 1998.
Hutch BMX was founded in 1979 by bicycle store owner Richard Hutchins in Pasadena, Maryland. Hutch BMX grew from a bicycle shop to a mail order business, and then to a BMX bicycle manufacturer. The company introduced (PROFILEs' frames) as their first model (Hutch Pro Racer) in 1981. The company is now named Hutch Hi-Performance inc. [1]
F-1 racing was a short lived fad from 1987–1989 that involved bicycles with 20" wheels that looked like a cross between BMX, Road Race Touring and Mountain bicycles.
