The Philippines national basketball team is led by head coach Tim Cone. Cone has been coach since September 2024. [1] The national team will finish their last two remaining games in the qualifiers of the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup which they already qualified for. This is the Group D game in the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup featuring the Philippines and Serbia. The template takes one parameter: bgc (background color, no default value).
A 1936 founding member of FIBA Asia, Philippines is one of the oldest teams and has one of Asia's longest basketball traditions. The team won a bronze medal in the 1954 FIBA World Championship for men, the best finish by any team outside the Americas and Europe.

In February 2023, the Philippines took part in the final window of the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup Asian qualifiers. [3] The national team ended their participation in the qualifiers with a lost to Jordan. [4] As one of the hosts of the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup, the Philippines were already qualified regardless of their performance.
