5.8ish is where you want to be in Promix. It's as hydro. You can swing from 5.6-6.0 but 6.3 is more for soil than promix. There are many factors that can cause a calcium or magnesium issue other than pH. If you are a little hot on certain nutes it can make it harder for the plant to absorb calcium and magnesium.

Im using promix HP with added EWC. When I up pot in about a half hour Im going to add a light dose of bat guano. Im using cannamed bio vega. Im subbed up here but I dont know how much help Ill be, Im a brand newbie.
The mix is about mostly Promix BX M (which has perlite & vermiculite), some extra perlite and a little dolomite. The light is a Mars TS2000. I've definitely over watered with the last soaking, as I wanted to make sure it was getting nutrients as the bottom leaves were yellowing.
Are you growing organically? We use the promix organic veg and herb soil. However, we heavily amend it (promix, shellfish compost, lots and lots and lots of perlite, glacial rock dust, composted leaves from the Northern Ontario bush, bokashi). This was mixed and cooked in the summer sun in a covered bin for 6 weeks before being used.
Thx guys you giving me many ideas . I too just started messing with fabric pots and i love em. I got shit tons of 3 gallon and 7 gallon plastic pots that with the promix and advanced nutrient ph perfect line im wondering about my ph etc too but i notice those fabric pots kick butt and i hear the smart pots do too as well so ill start drillling holes in those 3 n 7 gallon pots soon.
Avoid letting your ProMix medium dry to less than 30% water content and every watering day should have at least 10% runoff to keep EC ramping up consistent and roots happy. Reply Reactions: Pennywise and Bill284
Promix, megacrop, and patience will get you far. You'll need a little digital scale to weigh it out. Make sure it can read in 1/10ths of a gram. Amazon for about $15. Sometimes people guesstimate with 1tsp, 1/2tsp, etc. Not really worth it. Better to know exact than take a risk of over/under feeding your plants.
In another thread here on 420 fanleaf wrote that ProMix HP has a Ph of 5.8-6.2, and if that is true for my bale then I would guess that mixing FFOF and ProMix HP (both straight out of the bag/bale at your 3:1 ratio) would result in an acceptable Ph of around 6.0 or 6.1 or 6.2.
I have 4 seedlings in 2 gallon pots in the Pro-Mix medium. I did add about 25% perlite so it drains nicely. I'm old and retired so I would rather just give each plant a little water each day then try to remember which day I last watered them.
