The quickest and most scenic route from Palm Springs to the Grand Canyon is I-10 to Blythe, then taking US-95 north to I-40, finishing with AZ-64 and US-180 into the park.If you find yourself a bit ahead of schedule, you can take the old section of US-66 between Kingman and Seligman, AZ. The drive from the Grand Canyon to Bryce around the east ...
Since Kanab is only a few miles from three national parks (Bryce Canyon, Zion, Grand Canyon) and a whole bunch of state parks and national monuments (Lake Powell, Kodachrome Basin, Coral Pink Sand Dunes, Pipe Springs, Cedar Breaks, and the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument) we knew we were just starting a truly memorable fall roadtrip ...
Chaco Canyon doesn't have anywhere close for lodging but it has a campground. There's nothing better than camping in Mesa Verde under the stars! Between Canyon de Chelly and the Grand Canyon you might want to drive Hwy 264 though Keems Canyon and Second Mesa. Go south on Hwy 191 and then Hwy 264 to Tuba City, AZ.
Missouri. Posts. 160. If heading up to Mexican Hat (from Flagstaff - 3.5hr) is too much, Kayenta, AZ is 2.75hr and Tuba City is 1.5hr. If you head out of GC and take the exit via 64 heading toward Cameron, that'll save distance, but not much time overall - although your route will be prettier.
Leave Capitol Reef around noon, stop at Goblin State Park and head to Moab. Spend 3 days in Moab to see Arches and Canyonlands. Leave Moab in morning and head to Mesa Verde. (spend 1 day) Leave Mesa Verde in morning, stop by 4 corners and then head toward Grand Canyon. I don't have any idea where to stay between Mesa Verde and the Grand Canyon.
The most efficient route from Seattle to the Grand Canyon also happens to be quite scenic, but will take at least 2½ days to drive, so plan on 3 if you want to stop at a few places en route. The drive is I-90/I-82/I-84 southeast to Salt Lake City, then I-15 south to just south of Beaver, UT. Take UT-20 east to US-89 southeast to Cameron, AZ ...

We booked a Helicopter Ride via Papillion. The Airport for Grand canyon is approx 8 miles back on HW64. Whilst in the park take the tour hop on/hop off tour buses - especially the route that ends in Hermits Rest. Day 3 Exit the park from the East Exit.
I would look at making a loop including Zion, Bryce Canyon, and the Grand Canyon. If you have enough time, you could consider adding Capitol Reef, Arches/Canyonlands, and Monument Valley. 12-01-2013, 09:12 AM #9
In 1980, I had the marvelous opportunity to spend 32 days inside the Grand Canyon, and as a result, I have since fancied myself to be a knowledgeable visitor to this amazing national park. But a brand new 3rd edition to a popular guidebook by James Kaiser has opened my eyes to parts of the canyon that I was unaware of.
