Quincke's Interference Tube is an apparatus that Quincke built in 1866 which demonstrates destructive interference of sound waves. It is also known as the Herschel-Quincke Tube; John Herschel had proposed a similar apparatus, but did not build it. The Sacred Veil is a composition for a cappella choir, piano and cello by Eric Whitacre, with lyrics by Charles Anthony Silvestri. He composed it in 2018, also including lyrics of Silvestri's wife Julie, who died of cancer and to whom the composition is dedicated.
