The base cash fare to ride on BARTA buses is $1.70. Certain routes have an additional zone fare of $0.25 for travel outside the base zone. Transfers from one route to another are available for $0.25 and must be used within two hours of being issued. Students in grades 1-12 may ride for $1.20 with a Student ID card.

U.S. Highway 19 Business (US 19 Bus.), established in 1960, is a 2.3-mile (3.7 km) business route currently starts on Haywood Road then go north on I-26/I-240 (exit 2) back to the main US 19 (exit 3). Historically, US 19 Bus. continued along Haywood Road, connecting to Clingman Avenue and then to Patton Avenue/US 19.
In 1987, Route 19 was split into two lines in order to improve schedule adherence on both sides of town. The new Route 19 ran from State Center north of downtown Baltimore, and the line served the Harford Road corridor. The new Route 91 operated from Sinai Hospital to City Hall, serving the western half of this route. [5]
