The Mark's Western Star 49X Edit - or "How the truck should look like in the vanilla game..." This mod aims to add stock accessories and configurations unavailable in the base game to the Western Star 49X. This mod features: - 6 cabins - 1 day cab and 5 sleepers of different sizes
What is the most used IRL? Where i am in northern BC, pretty well all WS are SB. Shorter wheel base = Better maneuverability for our cutblocks/logging roads. it also puts more weight on the steer axle, and in the winter having all the weight on the drives and non on the steers is bad news when your pulling 80,000KG down the road
Beside the 49x and Western Star brand in general I mostly drive International LoneStar and from time to time Peterbilt 579. Last edited by MirkoC407 ; Sep 23, 2022 @ 8:47am #3
Western Star Trucks Inc. was an Independent Truck Maker at one time, Based in Kelowna BC Canada. In the late 1990s they were bought out in entirety by Frieghtliner Trucks. So, until ATS gets Frieghtliner to let them use the Brand Name in the game, its a no go for the rest of the stuff too.
There is also a new factory in Portland for these trucks, that is important for those trying to maintain 100% map coverage. Yes, I saw that on the map and got sucked into driving there from Seattle because of the symbol.

For the sound of the engine I have had to go to engine mods, but since it is not allowed in multiplayer mode, whoever drives this brand of trucks will not hear the sound of its engine and indicators. I have tried it on two computers and the same ...
This mod adds indicators for the amount of fuel remaining and distance to empty to the on-screen displays in the Western Star 49X, 57X and Freightliner Cascadia. On the analog dash it replaces the readouts on the screens for fuel consumption and speed, and the original temperature and odometer (total distance driven) displays are moved to the ...
To be honest, all base trucks are pretty similar, with the exception of the long-nose trucks. It really comes down to preference. Also, since Western Star has not released sleepers yet, day cab is all you'll have for the 49X for a while, while you can build up the Cascadia. Do some quick jobs with both and see what you prefer.
There was a live stream where Pavel confirmed that a number of further trucks were likely coming to the game over a couple of years. The Lonestar just appeared so just a case of waiting to see what show up during 2020.
