Formation Training Group (Fmn Trg Grp) provides training to the Canadian Army at the formation level. This includes the design and delivery of Exercise United Resolve and the provision of the Canadian Army Exercise Planning and Execution Course (CAEPAC) and the Civilian - Military Interagency Planning Seminar (CMIPS).
In 1989 Connaught National Army Cadet Summer Training Center (Connaught NACSTC) was established to allow all marksmanship courses across Canada to amalgamated at Connaught. Prior to that time, cadets had been attending Connaught on advance to Bisley or as a jump off point for exchange cadets.

Selected Army Cadets can attend summer training at locations across Canada. The training supports and expands the local headquarters program. The Canadian Army Tactics School supports the training and education of Army and other Canadian Armed Forces personnel by providing formal courses, learning support, and Counter-Improvised Explosive Devices and other Centre of Excellence expertise.
