South Nowra is a suburb of Nowra in the City of Shoalhaven in New South Wales, Australia. [2] [3] It lies south of Nowra on both sides of the Princes Highway. It includes a strip of light industry along the highway. At the 2016 census, it had a population of 1,928. [1]
The Municipality of Nowra was a municipality of New South Wales that existed from 1871 to 1948. In 1948, the Municipality of Nowra merged with the Municipalities of Berry, Broughton's Vale, Ulladulla , South Shoalhaven, and the shires of Cambewarra and Clyde to form the Shoalhaven Shire Council .
[2] [3] It lies on the Kangaroo Valley–Nowra road, about 11 km northwest of Nowra and south of Cambewarra Mountain. At the 2016 census , it had a population of 238. [ 4 ] Cambewarra is a largely rural area, which surrounds Cambewarra Village .
Terara is a suburb of Nowra in the City of Shoalhaven in New South Wales, Australia. [2] [3] It lies on the southern bank of the Shoalhaven about 3 km to the north-east of Nowra. At the 2021 census, it had a population of 305. [1] Terara is the original settlement of Nowra before being flooded and the township moved slightly west.
Cambewarra Village is a locality in the City of Shoalhaven in New South Wales, Australia. [2] [3] It lies on Main Road, which runs west from Cambewarra Road, which forms part of the Kangaroo Valley–Nowra road, about 9 km northwest of Nowra and south of Cambewarra Mountain.
