Lake Whitney is a flood control reservoir on the main stem of the Brazos River in Texas. It is located on River Mile Marker 442 and controls drainage for 17,656 square miles (45,730 km 2 ) of Texas and parts of New Mexico.

The architecture firm won first honor awards from American Institute of Architects in 1952 for Gaffney's Lake Wilderness Lodge. [4] The lodge is a 3-story wood-frame structure, clad in white cement stucco. The walls are primarily glass panes framed in fir. The architects designed the lodge to be viewed from both the lake and entry sides.
Lakeside Village is located at the intersection of Farm to Market Roads 56 and 927 on Lake Whitney, 15 mi (24 km) northeast of Meridian and 50 mi (80 km) south of Fort Worth in northeastern Bosque County. [2] It is also located 28 mi (45 km) southeast of Glen Rose and 53 mi (85 km) west of Hillsboro. [3]
