The pilot's body was spotted at 15:00 Friday 14 January, on the desert floor eleven miles (18 km) south of Kramer Junction, about a mile east of Highway 395. It was found c. three miles (5 km) northeast of the aircraft wreckage by a ground party composed of personnel from Camp Irwin, Edwards AFB and George AFB.
