Sheila Ellis Hixson (February 9, 1933 – November 6, 2022) was an American politician who served as a Democrat in the Maryland House of Delegates from 1976 to 2018. She represented District 20 in Montgomery County, Maryland which includes parts of Burtonsville, Takoma Park, and Silver Spring neighborhoods of Hillandale, Woodmoor, White Oak, Indian Springs, East Silver Spring, and Colesville.

Van Hixson (27 November 1920 – 19 February 1989) was a retired United States Army major general. A veteran Army aviator, he flew B-17 bombers during World War II and later served as The Adjutant General of the Utah National Guard from November 1980 to September 1982.
