"Power Ponies" is the sixth episode of the fourth season as well as the 71st episode overall. In the episode, Spike, Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Applejack, Rarity, and Pinkie Pie are transported into a comic book where they become its characters. [1] To escape, they must defeat the Mane-iac, the villain of the book.
The Awkward Reviews graded the episode "B+" for its entertainment in dialogue and Fluttershy's character as well as the comedy. Negative aspects cited included the reduced amount of chaos, continuity issues, and the fact Discord might be tricking the ponies. [4] The Wrap ranked it the tenth best episode of the series. [5]
They use a hot-air balloon, pulled along by Fluttershy, to catch up to Rainbow. The ponies eventually catch Rainbow and manage to tie her down long enough for Twilight to cast her memory spell, reverting Rainbow to normal as well. Afterwards, the ponies collect the Elements and reapproach Discord, who passes off their threat.
