Member. The DPP Titanium Optic Mount/Adapter Plate is a good option and is a fraction of the price. I used the FCD plate on my G40 MOS, but I have the DPP plates on my G19 MOS and G43X MOS. The DPP plates fit very well and the optics are solidly mounted. "A bad day shooting beats a great day working!"

Phosphate requires oil or will rust. Nitride is better for accuracy and corrosion resistance than chrome. Chrome will last longer during high use and wear resistance is better than nitride. While phosphate is proven, it's old and pretty much anything besides a bare barrel, bluing, or black oxide will be superior.

EE 100% (8) CA, USA. Posted: 10/27/2024 12:52:01 AM EST. Hi all, I recently installed the Superlative Arms piston system (mid-length, 16" barrel) and a standard (carbine) buffer weight JP SCS. With this combination, I am able to adjust the gas block to achieve proper cycling and ejection pattern. I am wondering, however, would there be any ...

Melonite Processing A degraded form of this nitride layer (gamma prime: g' - Fe4N) is obtained during plasma or gas nitriding. The nitride layer is composed of two principle zones. Zone 1, called the compound or "white" layer, extends to a case depth of ~0.0004" to 0.0008". The compound layer is porous, which lends to the lubricity of the ...

Check out seal bombs IIRC it’s a 1/4 stick of dynamite with a water proof fuse. Used for commercial fishing to scare away seals hence the name. We used to get M80s fairly easy in Nogales, Arizona. Its right on the border and easy drive from Tucson. They were no joke back in the 80s. We had M-80s through the 70s.

Nitride was always offered as an alternative. Secondly, this test is pretty useless. Nitride is on a whole other level as far as corrosion resistance. What people want to see is a comparison between mag phosphate and black oxide. I will say props to you for doing this with your own firearm.
