  2. Gained almost 10 pounds in 2 weeks? — MyFitnessPal.com

    community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/663472/gained-almost-10-pounds-in-2-weeks

The body takes at least a couple weeks or sometimes longer to establish a new equilibrium. I had the same thing, although only five pounds, happen when I upped my calories to maintenance level from the lose-a-pound-a-week level to break a two-month plateau. After a couple of weeks, the pounds dropped off again.

  3. Is it possible to gain 5 lbs in 2 weeks? — MyFitnessPal.com

I'm 5'5" and weighed around 113 a couple weeks ago; I'm consistently at 115 now, so I think I've gained about 2 lbs. I don't have a very high BF%, so I guess I may look a little underweight, but my BMI is still in the normal range, especially now that I've gained 2 lbs.

  4. Gained 10 lbs but look thinner? Only doing cardio - MyFitnessPal

But okay so I weighed 135, and ate right, and even created a calorie deficit (not below 1200, though), and I maintained that weight for a while. Then I started Shaun T's Focus t25, and ate the same, but GAINED 10 pounds after two weeks on the program.

  5. Is it really possible to gain 10 pound in 1 week - MyFitnessPal

    community.myfitnesspal.com/.../is-it-really-possible-to-gain-10-pound-in-1-week

I left for this trip at 162 pounds and returned at 177. After being back for a few days I am back to 172. Those last 10 pounds originally took 5 months to lose. I am now wondering if the remaining 10 pound weight gain is for real, or mostly retention from a week of high carbs, fats, salt, wine etc.

  6. A lot of weight gain after surgery? — MyFitnessPal.com

Surgery causes swelling, both visible and non-visible. As said above, you get a ton of fluids in surgery, in the form of saline. Me, my first surgery made me gain 10-15 pounds during the surgery alone! It floored me as they hadn't told me about the expected weight gain, but the doctors were not concerned.

  7. How much weight do you put on in a 2-week vacation?

    community.myfitnesspal.com/.../how-much-weight-do-you-put-on-in-a-2-week-vacation

Heading to NOLA for a week long holiday this October. Gonna eat pretty much whatever I want. Even if I gain 10 pounds I know I can knock it off in no time. I lost 6 pounds on vacation last year. I ate pretty much what I wanted but walked hours and hours a day.

  8. Losing weight, then gaining it back within a week. HELP!

    community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1009628/losing-weight-then-gaining-it...

Go back to 1600 calories, don't weigh yourself for three weeks (random time period I just pulled of my *kitten*) and then start tracking on a weekly basis. Don't make changes to your eating plan until you have three weeks of data to see the trend. Adjust if needed, track three more weeks and adjust again if needed. Repeat till you hit GW

  9. GAINED 10 pounds in a 3 day vacation! — MyFitnessPal.com

    community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10836383/gained-10-pounds-in-a-3-day...

If it makes you feel any better, I gained 5 pounds in about 1-1 1/2 weeks and my calorie range was generally the same that whole time--no overeating! I blame mine on hormones and my body's response to certain foods/water retention. Like what was said, try not to freak out as it's highly unlikely that 10 pounds is actual fat weight.

  10. I gained 20 pounds in 3 days — MyFitnessPal.com

    community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1125588/i-gained-20-pounds-in-3-days

Water weight. Sounds like you ate a lot of sodium-heavy foods, so you'll be retaining water due to that. You have to eat 3500cal over maintenance to gain a pound - and so unless you ate 70,000 calories over maintenance in three days, you won't have gained 20 pounds of fat. Drink lots of water and it should come off.

  11. Gained 8 pounds — MyFitnessPal.com

As soon as I came to MFP I started netting over my BMR (about 1600) and the weight slid right off me! (8.5 lbs in 5 weeks) For the last 2 weeks I went up to eating at maintenance (net 2000) to prepare for a running race. In those 2 weeks I gained a full 5 lbs of glycogen and water.
