Chongchuan District (simplified Chinese: 崇川区; traditional Chinese: 崇川區; pinyin: Chóngchuān Qū) is one of three urban districts of Nantong, Jiangsu province, China. The district has an area of 210 km 2 (81 sq mi) and in 2001 the population was around 620,000.
However, in 1949, when the People's Republic of China was founded, Haimen became governed under Nantong Prefecture. Once county-level governments started to reappear in 1983, Haimen was reinstated as a county, and in June 1994, Haimen became a county-level city. [7] In 2020, Haimen became a district of Nantong. [9]
