[5]The publication won multiple awards, including Gold at the Best Design Awards 2022 (Designer's Institute of New Zealand) for 'Editorial and Books' along with Gold in the 'Toitanga' Maori design category.

Paratene Temokopuorongo Matchitt (10 August 1933 – 19 July 2021) [1] was a New Zealand sculptor and painter, known for combining traditional Māori art forms with those of modernist art. His work also references events from New Zealand history , particularly the Māori prophetic movements of the nineteenth century and most specifically Te Kooti .

Māori Art Market is a biennial Toi Māori event in New Zealand, featuring art exhibitions, art sales, live art demonstrations (such as wood carving and tattooing), as well as presentations and master classes. It features traditional and contemporary Māori art by Māori artists. It was inspired by the Santa Fe Indian Market.
