A Primary username is the name you created when you first signed up for an AOL account. In the past, AOL offered the ability to create secondary usernames linked to this Primary username, however, as of November 30, 2017, the ability to add or manage additional usernames has been removed.

A security key is a physical device that gets uniquely associated with your AOL account after you enable it. Sign in to the AOL Account Security page. Scroll to the bottom of the page. First add a new email or phone number. Enter your new recovery info and follow the on-screen prompts. Click remove next to the old recovery option. Click Remove email or Remove phone to confirm.
