Shakuntala Devi (4 November 1929 – 21 April 2013) was an Indian mental calculator, astrologer, and writer, popularly known as the "Human Computer". Her talent earned her a place in the 1982 edition of The Guinness Book of World Records .

Shakuntala Devi received positive reviews from critics. Acharya Chandana (born Shakuntala in 1937), known as Tai Maharaj by her devotees, is an Indian Jain nun of the Amarmuni Sampradaya. Chandana is the first Jain sadhvi (female renunciant) to be awarded the title of Acharya [1] and the Padma Shri. [2]
In 1960, she won the Shakuntala Devi Amirchand Prize in 1960. [1] In 1963, she was one of the four Indian scientists to win the G. J. Watumull Memorial Prize, for her work in family planning. [ 15 ] [ 16 ] In 1965, she won a grant from the Rockefeller Foundation to visit reproductive physiology laboratories in Europe and Israel. [ 17 ]
Udai Bhan is married to Shakuntala Devi and they have three sons and one daughter. [2] Bhan's younger son Raj Gopal and his youngest son Devesh Kumar have also been in public life and been associated with the Congress. [11] Udai Bhan's younger son Raj Gopal served as chairman, Municipal Council, Hodal, from 2016 to 2019. [12]
