Subedar Major Neeraj Chopra PVSM VSM (born 24 December 1997) is an Indian track and field athlete. Considered as the greatest Indian javelin thrower , he's a double medalist at the Olympics , World Championships , and the Asian Games .
In the third round, Arshad Nadeem hit an 87.82m to put a scare into Chopra's lead. Nadeem's fourth round throw was also in the 87 metre range. In the fifth round, Vadlejch threw 86.67m to move into bronze position. Chopra's win was the first Gold Medal at the World Championships for India. [3]

Neeraj Chopra was the reigning Olympic and World champion, having won gold at the previous Olympics and 2023 World Championships. The silver medalist from Tokyo 2020 and reigning European champion Jakub Vadlejch also qualified for the event. The bronze medalist from three years earlier, Vítězslav Veselý had retired.
