The River Cities' Reader is an independently owned alternative newspaper based in Davenport, Iowa. The newspaper was founded in 1993 and is circulated throughout the Quad-Cities metropolitan area and outlying communities. The Reader 's format is tabloid size on newsprint; its masthead reads "business, politics, arts and culture".
QC Anime-zing! is an anime convention organized in the Quad Cities, United States. [1] The convention offers anime screenings, video games, a dealers room, guest panels, fan panels, cosplay competitions, and many other events typical of an anime convention. [2] It was first held at The Lodge Hotel in Bettendorf, IA from June 18–20, 2010.
In addition to in-depth stories and editorials covering government and culture in the Quad Cities, issues of the Reader contain listings of arts and entertainment events taking place throughout the area, and provides critical reviews for regional art exhibitions, music concerts, and theatrical performances.
The fest has traditionally been held at several venues around Davenport, anchored by the LeClaire Bandshell on the banks of the Mississippi River. Currently, musical performances are held at the Rhythm City Casino’s Events Center in Davenport. Additional events include a Saturday morning tribute at Oakdale Memorial Cemetery.
The Quad Cities Waterfront Convention Center is a convention center located in Bettendorf, Iowa, United States. The name for the facility in the development stages was the Bettendorf Events Center. A ground breaking ceremony for the center was held on October 6, 2006. [ 2 ]

The Quad Cities Metropolitan Area is also considered part of the Great Lakes Megalopolis. [22] [23] The Quad Cities area is distinctive because the Mississippi River flows from east to west as it passes through the heart of the area; the Iowa cities of Davenport and Bettendorf are located due north of Rock Island and Moline, respectively.
