The Royal Canadian Air Force Pipes and Drums (RCAFPD) is a military pipe band unit composed of current members of the Royal Canadian Air Force. [1] The unit was formally established in October 1949 and is the longest continuous serving Air Force Pipe Band in the Canadian Forces.

The Musique du Royal 22 e Régiment is based in Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier, while the Royal Canadian Artillery RCA band is based in Edmonton. The RCAF operates one full-time professional band, the Royal Canadian Air Force Band. The RCAF Band is based in Winnipeg.
The musicians play in brass/reed and pipes & drums bands. Canadian military bands consist of: 6 full-time regular force bands; 53 part-time reserve force bands; 15 voluntary bands [2] The members of these bands come from all over the CF, coming from units in the Canadian Army, Royal Canadian Air Force, and Royal Canadian Navy.

In 1979 and 1988, the RMC Pipes and Drums performed at Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, at Exhibition Place, Toronto. The Pipes and Drums performed at the Air Canada Silver Broom International Curling Championships. The entire band first played in the KW Oktoberfest Parade in October 1983, staying the weekend in Ayr, Ontario. [14]
