U.S. Route 80 (US 80), also known as the Ocean-to-Ocean Highway, the Broadway of America and the Jefferson Davis Memorial Highway, was a major transcontinental highway that existed in the U.S. state of Arizona from November 11, 1926, to October 6, 1989.
State Route 80 (SR 80) is a 120.20-mile (193.44-kilometre) long, roughly arc-shaped highway lying in southeastern Arizona. Starting in downtown Benson , the highway serves as the main route through the towns of St. David , Tombstone , Bisbee and Douglas before terminating at the New Mexico state line, becoming New Mexico State Road 80 (NM 80).

In 1935, the highway was extended to the east from the Grand Canyon to US 89. [3] In 1961, the highway was extended further east from US 89 through Tuba City to the New Mexico state line. [ 4 ] In 1965, the portion from Teec Nos Pos was renumbered to SR 504 to match New Mexico, [ 5 ] which would be renumbered again in 1987 to US 64 . [ 6 ]

This building previously housed a railway depot. The BCO administers trail maintenance, patrol, and search and rescue operations in the Grand Canyon's backcountry areas. The Grand Canyon Backcountry Office manages undeveloped areas of the canyon by following the 1988 Backcountry Management Plan (BMP), as amended. [4]
