Allamakee County (/ ˈ æ l ə m ə ˌ k i /) is the northeasternmost county in the U.S. state of Iowa. As of the 2020 census , the population was 14,061. [ 1 ] Its county seat is Waukon .

[10] Dorchester's location in the flood plain of the Upper Iowa River makes it vulnerable to flooding; the community was damaged by high waters in August 2007.
