The 1970 US Open was a tennis tournament that took place on the outdoor grass courts at the West Side Tennis Club in Forest Hills, Queens, in New York City, United States. The tournament ran from 2 September until 13 September.
Ken Rosewall defeated Tony Roche in the final, 2–6, 6–4, 7–6 (5–2), 6–3 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 1970 US Open. [1] It was his second US Open singles title and seventh Grand Slam tournament singles title overall. Rod Laver was the defending champion, but lost in the fourth round to Dennis Ralston.
Defending champion Margaret Court defeated Rosie Casals in the final, 6–2, 2–6, 6–1 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 1970 US Open. With the win, Court completed the Grand Slam, becoming the first woman in the Open Era to do so.
