Greenville (locally / ˈ ɡ r iː n v ə l / GREEN-vəl) is a city in Hunt County, Texas, United States, located in Northeast Texas approximately 50 miles (80 km) northeast of Dallas, Texas and 52 miles (84 km) northwest of Canton, Texas.
Hunt County is a county in the U.S. state of Texas.As of the 2020 census, its population was 99,956. [1] Its county seat is Greenville. [2] The county is named for Memucan Hunt, Jr., the first Republic of Texas Minister to the United States from 1837 to 1838 and the third Texas Secretary of the Navy from 1838 to 1839. [3]

The Audie Murphy American Cotton Museum is located at 600 Interstate 30 East, in the city of Greenville, county of Hunt, in the U.S. state of Texas. It was established in 1987. [1] Cotton was Hunt County's largest cash crop in the early 20th century, and the museum features a "History of Cotton" exhibit. [2]
U.S. Route 380 (US 380) is an east–west United States highway.The highway's eastern terminus is in Greenville, Texas at an intersection with Interstate 30, of which the easternmost 3–4 miles are concurrent with US 69 in a loop around the west and south sides of Greenville.
The highway enters Greenville and intersects I-30/US 67, which used to be a cloverleaf interchange. Shortly after intersecting US 69/US 380, SH 34 overlaps with a business route of US 69 through the city's downtown area. Leaving the city, the highway serves as the western terminus for SH 224.
