The Linn Creek Reveille was founded in 1879 by J. W. Vincent. After his death in 1933, the paper was sold to Clint Webb in 1933 and then G. T. Richards in 1937. The paper became the Lake Sun Leader sometime in the early 1990’s.

The Ozark Conference was a high school athletic conference represented by 11 schools in the southwest portion of Missouri.As the name implies, all eleven schools are in the Ozarks region of the state and all are among the biggest in the region (only West Plains and Hillcrest are not Class 5 in basketball).
The original Linn Creek, which was the former county seat of Camden County, Missouri, is now under water, in the Lake of the Ozarks. Construction of the Bagnell Dam that created the lake was begun August 8, 1929. The county seat was moved to the new town of Camdenton which had its beginnings in 1931. [5]
