The University of Sri Lanka was a public university in Sri Lanka. Established in 1972 by amalgamating the four existing universities, it was the only university in Sri Lanka from 1972 until 1978. The university was based at six campuses in Colombo, Peradeniya, Sri Jayewardenepura, Kelaniya, Moratuwa and Jaffna.

The University of Botswana and Swaziland was the predecessor of both the University of Botswana and the University of Eswatini.It existed from October 20, 1975 when the Lesotho campus of the University of Botswana, Lesotho and Swaziland (UBLS) withdrew to form the National University of Lesotho (NUL), until June 1982 when the two universities in Botswana and Eswatini were established.
Luyengo was the site of the Swaziland Agricultural College, which became the Swaziland Agricultural College and University Centre (SACUC) and was incorporated into the University of Eswatini. The Main campus for the University in Eswatini was then built at Kwaluseni, and all departments except agriculture then moved to that campus.
