They also provide training, community based services, and oversees the state's Probation & Parole Division.
Kentucky's 17th Senatorial district is one of 38 districts in the Kentucky Senate. Stretching from Lexington to the northern part of the state, it comprises the counties of Grant, Scott, and parts of Fayette and Kenton. It has been represented by Matt Nunn (R–Sadieville) since 2025. [1] As of 2022, the district had a population of 123,429. [2]
The county was named after Charles Scott, an American Revolutionary War general who later was Kentucky's fourth governor. The first Scott County Courthouse was built in 1792 on a 1-acre (4,000 m 2) lot sold to the county by Elijah Craig. The original building was replaced by a larger structure.
