The Timmins Daily Press is a newspaper in Timmins, Ontario, which publishes six days a week.It is notable as the first paper founded by press baron Roy Thomson in the 1930s, who would eventually own more than 200 newspapers including The Times (London).
Timmins is home to one television station which is locally licensed, CITO-TV.However, that station effectively acts as a satellite of Sudbury's CICI-TV as part of the CTV Northern Ontario system — the station's only direct local production is news reportage which airs as part of regional newscasts produced at the Sudbury station.

The station was launched in late 1933 by young Northern Ontario media entrepreneur Roy Thomson, who would later become the owner of The Times of London.Thomson acquired the Timmins Daily Press in 1934, and the newspaper and radio station shared a building and ownership for many years.
