Winona Cargile Alexander (1893-1984), a founder of Delta Sigma Theta, was the first African American accepted to the New York School of Philanthropy in 1915. Jennifer Lee (born January 9, 1968) is an American sociologist and the Julian Clarence Levi Professor of Social Sciences at Columbia University. [1] She was president of the Eastern Sociological Society from 2020–21. [2] Lee was previously on the faculty of the University of California, Irvine.
