The White-Haired Girl (Chinese: 白毛女; pinyin: Bái Máo Nǚ) is a Chinese contemporary classical opera by Yan Jinxuan to a Chinese libretto by He Jingzhi and Ding Yi. It was later adapted to a ballet , a Peking opera , and a film.
In 1869, the mansion is owned by young, greedy businessman Jacopo. He lives with his wife, another reincarnation of the White-Haired Girl, and many servants, including the Maid and his childhood friend Maria. Maria, secretly despising Jacopo, sabotages his relationship with the White-Haired Girl, causing her to eventually flee.
