"2 Phones" is a song by American rapper Kevin Gates. It was released on November 5, 2015 as the third single from his debut studio album Islah . It peaked at number 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 , making it Gates' first top 20 song and his highest-charting single to date.
This video is a more literal interpretation of the lyrics of the song (for example, Archer using a mobile phone while singing "I try to phone a friend – my credit's in the red"). It also shows the interior of a cash machine staffed by miniature humans, including the four band members, who work in conditions akin to coal mines.
Machine was an American funk, disco and rock group, formed in New York City and originally active from 1977 to 1981. The band reached its biggest success with the single "There but for the Grace of God Go I", which became a disco hit in 1979.
