The Amtrak Cascades is a passenger train route in the Pacific Northwest, operated by Amtrak in partnership with the U.S. states of Washington and Oregon. It is named after the Cascade mountain range that the route parallels.

Fairhaven Station is owned by the Port of Bellingham and is the last northbound stop in the United States on the Amtrak Cascades route before it enters Canada. (Passengers clear Canadian customs in Vancouver, so northbound trains do not stop at the border.) Bellingham is also the northernmost Amtrak station in the contiguous U.S.
After passing through downtown Bellingham and the old depot, the line continues north through Ferndale to the end of the subdivision at Blaine.
