West Liberty is a home rule-class city in Morgan County, Kentucky, United States. It is the county seat of Morgan County. [4] As of the 2020 census, the city population was 3,215. [2] It is located along the Licking River at the junction of Kentucky Route 7 and U.S. Route 460.
It follows the Kennett-Oxford Bypass along a southwest-to-northeast alignment across the northwestern edge of the borough. Pennsylvania Route 472 mostly follows Lancaster Avenue and Market Street on an east–west alignment through the center of town, while Pennsylvania Route 10 begins at PA 472 in the center of town and follows Third Street north.
U.S. Route 127 passes through the city, leading north 26 miles (42 km) to Danville and south 21 miles (34 km) to Russell Springs. According to the United States Census Bureau, Liberty has a total area of 1.9 square miles (4.9 km 2), of which 0.01 square miles (0.03 km 2), or 0.71%, is water. [7]
