World of Tanks (WoT) is an armoured warfare-themed multiplayer online game developed by Wargaming, featuring 20th century (1910s–1970s) era combat vehicles. [1] It is built upon a freemium business model where the game is free-to-play, but participants also have the option of paying a fee for use of "premium" features.
On 26 March 2013, Wargaming announced World of Tanks Blitz, [28] a mobile MMO game centered around tank combat available for smartphones and tablets. The game was released on iOS [29] in June 2014. As of 2016, World of Tanks Blitz is available on iOS, Android, [30] Windows 10 [31] and Mac OS X. [32]
Since release, World of Tanks has become a cultural phenomenon in several countries across the globe and as of March 2018, the PC title has over 160,000,000 registered players worldwide. The World of Tanks series has expanded to mobile platforms with World of Tanks Blitz and on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Xbox 360 as World of Tanks: Mercenaries.

The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One console versions , titled World of Warships: Legends , followed in 2019 and were released on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in April 2021 and a mobile version was soft launched in May 2023.
